Gregory Skyta drives t he #80 750cc Mini Sprint Class car.  His home track is Thunderbowl Speedway but he can also be found racing at East Bay Speedway, Volusia Speedway, Putnam County Speedway and Lake City Speedway.  He lives in Palm Coast, FL.

Team members helping Gregory are:  Mom, Dad, Duane & Shirley, Dave & Lisa and Danny & Carrie.  Gary Skyta is the car owner.

Gregory started racing in 1999 in the Jr. Spt 1 Go Kart Class at Volusia Speedway because he's always had a love for it and his Dad used to race Modifieds a long time ago.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include 1st Go Kart win on his birthday, 2000 Jackson Motorsports Jr. Spt 2 Champion, 2001 Jackson Motorsports Jr. Spt 2 Champion, made 2 races at the Daytona Dirt World Championships in 2003, first win in Mini Sprints on 6/18/05, which is again his birthday in Cochran, GA.

The thrill of racing for Gregory is his love of speed and the competition.  The bonus is all the friends he's made and how much closer it brings his family.  His most exciting racing moment was when he won his first Mini Sprint race.  He had missed the previous 4 races, but somehow managed the pole in Georgia.  After the green dropped, by lap 12 he was 1/2 lap in front of 2nd place.  He's most proud of his reputation of being a clean driver.  He's always been brought up to respect his equipment along with everybody else's.

Gregory's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.

Of racing, Gregory says, "It's not as easy as it looks!  There is so much competition, it's unbelievable!".
