Dave Darland drives the #11 Sprint Class
car. His home track is Kokomo Speedway but he can also be found
racing with USAC Series. He lives in Walton, IN.
Team members helping Dave are:
Denny Terrill, Howard Dickett. Jeff Walker is the car owner.
Dave started racing in 1971 in Quarter
Midgets and 1982 in Sprints at Kokomo Speedway because his Dad was a
race fan. He bought a Quarter Midget and they started racing.
Dave's first win was in 1982 in the Sprint Class at Kokomo Speedway.
Career highlights include winning Western World at Manzanita Speedway,
Open Wheel Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway, Rich Volgler Classic at Winchester Speedway and
four USAC Championships.
The thrill of racing for Dave is the
victory, driving a Sprint car and friends that you meet racing.
His most exciting racing moment was meeting his wife at Warsaw Speedway,
driving for the first time and the last race. He's most proud of
coming from where he came from to where he is at today. It amazes
Dave and he is proud of it! He's proud of driving for great teams!
Dave's racing hero is his Dad.
They did a lot and all the Kinsers.
Of racing, Dave says, "It's a family
sport and a lot of family involvement. A lot of money is involved
but that is not why we do it. It's tough but we race for the love
of Sprint cars!".
