Family and friends and great fans. Mark Swanson (21) and Tony
Smiley (8A) are the car

Charles started racing in 1991 in the
Sprint Class at Manzanita Speedway because his Dad raced and Charles was
always around it. His first win was in 1992 in the Sprint Class at
Canyon Raceway. Career highlights include 1993 CRA Rookie of the Year,
1996 and 1999 AZ Sprint Champion, 2003 Kenny Weld Classic at Lakeside

The thrill of racing for Charles is the
competition. His most exciting racing moment was his first win at
Manzanita on 1/2 mile beating Richard Griffin. Charles kissed the
car! He's most proud of being able to compete with many different
drivers and associations. Also meeting great racing fans
throughout the United States and being a part of the racing community.
Charles's racing hero is Leland McSpaden.
Of racing, Charles says, "If you have
never seen a non-wing race, you have to go! You will be hooked
from then on!".
