and Butch McGill.
Butch started racing in 1967 in the
Cadett Class at Pennsboro Speedway because Dad was into racing.
They would not let Butch play football but they let him drive a race
car! His first win was in 1967 at Elkins Speedway. Career
highlights include Track Championships at I-79 Speedway, Elkins
Speedway, Ohio Valley Speedway and Hilltop Speedway, winner of Buckeye
Fall Classic, winner of Big Race at Hagerstown Speedway and winner of
Johnnie Roberts Memorial Race.
The thrill of racing for Butch is the
adrenaline rush and just loving it. His most exciting racing
moment was winning a race - any race. If guys race you clean, just
winning a race! He's most proud of his wife and three boys!
His boys still go racing with him.
Butch's racing hero is Davey Allison.
Of racing, Butch says, "This is a good
sport! Nothing better but maybe deer hunting!".
