Cool rainy weekend in the Carolina’s we were going to go up to Dublin Friday night for their last regular program of the year but it got rained out.  Carolina Speedway and Sumter have closed and Florence was rained out Saturday night so no racing this weekend.

Dale Jr. got the wrong end of the racing luck stick at Talladega. I think Brian Vickers was trying to push Jimmy Johnson by, but misjudged or could not react quickly enough. He got the win and that team has been running good. How quick things can change. This thing will not be decided until the last race. Every week the announcers have driver as a LOCK and someone else eliminated and then after the race is over it has all changed. Racing luck is cruel. It runs 10-1 against you at least.

What is it about this ill track at Macon? Brian Shirley wins the Knoxville Lucas Oil Nationals, Macon is his home track. Brian started in Mods there.  Macon is Shannon Babb the Mowequeta Missile ‘s home track also. Billy Drake the #9 used to be a regular at Macon. All made the show at Knoxville.

Shannon ran second to Billy Moyer at the Lowe’s Dirt Track Lucas Oil race before the Fall Charlotte race. You always get you money’s worth at Lowe’s. It was good to see Dan Stone in the 21 car from Maryland on his way to the Big shows in Volusia and Golden Isle. Roger Slack runs a great show at the dirt track. Monster Trucks, Fire Works Crash Cars and 67 of the best late models in the country. 6 heats 3 B’s and the Main. Done at 10:15 they beat the rain.

The dirt track at Lowe’s must be on your list. See the photos on the NC photos page.
