Just returned from the PRI show. What a great thing for racing. I can see more Carolina Race people in 4 days, than if 3 weeks in the Carolinaís. See our coverage we have lots of photos.

Crate Racin

Stan Lester and Mike Vinton had early vision of what this could do for racing. Stan started the Fastrak. series This year  70 some cars trecked from across the nation to Stanís Fast Track  Nationals, in Bulls Gap Tn., Riverside SC, and Lancaster SC. $250.000 for one weekend of racing. $50,000 to win. Hot Rod Lamance won the 50 Grand. A weekly racer not a traveler won $50,000. How much better can it get for one weekend of racing. See our coverage of it on our special events page.

92 Cars took time trials in the Storm Pay.com Crate racing Nationals at East Bay. Absolutely  GREAT racing, and the finals had a full house of  Industry people. It should be a lot easier to get companies involved after seeing this show. It should be easier for the racer to get sponsors and for the series.

Jan 2 2007

We are the luckiest guy in racing. So many great  people so many tracks, so many shows. 2006brought record crowds and record car counts to many parts of the country. Starting with the Shoot out and the Chili Bowl in Tulsa, and the Ice Bowl at Talladega  Short track in Jan. to the World Short Track Championships  at Lowes Motor Speedway and the Crate Racing Nationals, we saw record car counts and people.

Many places were short on crowds and car counts. You can always find places that are not doing good. Lots of times it is the promoter.  I made a swing trough the Mid-West and saw several tracks in trouble. Fayette County Speedway  at Brownstown Ill closed early,  Charlie Depew  who ran the speedway is one of the best promoters I know. He has great food, top 10.  My home track Macon Speedway closed in early Aug. and is still up in the air at this time as to what will happen there next year. Godfrey closed and is now a factory site.
