Alex Ashley drives the #9 SUPR Late Model
Class car. His home track is Baton Rouge Raceway but he can also
be found racing at Pike County Speedway. He lives in Zachary, LA.
Team members helping Alex are:
Luke Bennett, Tyler Sibley, Chad Pierce, Grant Ashley. Damon Wood
is the car owner.
Alex started racing in 2007 in the
Limited Modified Class at Baton Rouge Raceway because he's always had an
interest in racing and have always wanted to be as good as his Father.
His first win was that same year. Career highlights include
winning a double Feature race where he started 4th in the first then in
the second race he started 24th (last) and passed the leader on the last
lap to win. His first season he won the Points Championship at
Baton Rouge Raceway. He finished 2nd overall in Louisiana and
Mississippi and 4th in the Nation!
The thrill of racing for Alex is when
the green flag drops and the fans cheering in a good race. His
most exciting racing moment was his first win and the emotions of his
Dad of how proud he was of Alex. All the hard work paid off! He's
most proud to have won a Track Points Championship, placed in the Top 5
in the nation and Top 3 in Louisiana and Mississippi and be moved up to
SUPR Late Models to race along side his Dad.
Alex's racing hero is his Dad.
Of racing, Alex says, "Racing is not a
one man sport. It takes teamwork and a lot of dedication.
Most importantly if your family backs you, no matter if you win or lose,
you still have each other to laugh and remember the good and bad
