Marc Madison drives the #14 Modified
Class car. His home track is North Texas but he can also be found
racing at Grayson County Speedway. He lives in Tioga, TX.
Team members helping Marc are: Jay
Guthrie, Tammie.
Marc started racing in 1975 in the
Street Stock Class at Sport Strong Speedway because his Dad had taken
him to the race track since he was 6 years old. Every Saturday
night his Dad would load him into the car and they'd go! His first
win was in '75 in the Street Stock at a Figure 8 race at Sport Strong
Speedway. Career highlights include 2 Track Championships - '79 in
Figure 8 on dirt and '06 on asphalt in Modified at Wichita Falls.
The thrill of racing for Marc is the
accomplishments, the self fulfillment. Being successful at
something. "Oh boy, I wanna keep doing this!". His most
exciting racing moment was his Top 10 finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway
in '91 in the Nascar race with 110,000 people watching in the
grandstands. He's most proud of being blessed to get to drive,
consecutively for 36 years, blessed and lucky to be able to drive and
not miss a year racing. His new goal is to make it to 50, being
able to race each year.
Marc's racing heroes are local guys he
used to watch when he was 6 years old. Mainly because they were
doing what he wanted to do. Larry Redman let Marc hang around
while he worked on the race car at his shop. Dad -he packed the
track.
Of racing, Marc says, "Racing is a sport
and it can be a family sport. In racing, your family can be right
in the pits with you. Football, baseball can't take your family to
the sideline or dugout.
His favorite racing website is where he
can find the schedule for racing on TV.
