Scottie started racing in 1995 in the
Sprint Class at Big H because Grandpa (Ed McDonald) built Big H
Speedway, Dad (Bubba McDonald) raced Sprint cars for years and Scottie
just followed in their footsteps. His first win was in '03 in the
Sprint Class at Hot Rod Hill. Career highlights include
Sportsmanship of the Year in ASCS Gulf South in '04, Big H Rookie of the
Year in '95, 1st ASCS win Gator Motorplex '05, won the Ronald Laney
Memorial Race at 105 Speedway in '07, Ronald was a good friend of
Scottie's.
The thrill of racing for Scottie is to
be able to get everything together and be competitive at this level.
His most exciting racing moment was winning the Ronald Laney Memorial
Race at 105 Speedway in '07. He's most proud of all the
great people he's met along the way.
Scottie's racing hero is his Dad.
Of racing, Scottie says, "That it proves
if you work hard and dedicate yourself to something, there will be a
reward. Racing has taught me many life lessons through the
years!".
