Shane Carson drives the #5 SST Class car.  His home track is Lubbock Speedway.  He lives in Yukon, OK.

Team members helping Shane are:  Glen Polk is the car owner.

Shane started racing in 1966 in the Sprint Class at Lubbock Speedway because it looked like fun.  His first win was in '67 in the Sprint Class at Lubbock Speedway.  Career highlights include Modified Rookie of the Year OKC in '73.

The thrill of racing for Shane is getting to go as fast as you want to.  His most exciting racing moment was living through big crash at Bellville, KS.  He's most proud of winning '85 USAC race in OKC.

Shane's racing hero is Jackie Haverton.
