Miktuk and Benson Win At Caraway SPeedway
Cole Miktuk Wins 50 Lap Late
Model Super Truck Event;
April 26, 2008 – Asheboro, NC -- After a brief delay by mother nature’s April Shower the NASCAR Late Model Stocks took to the track for 75 laps of action. Sanford’s Brad Brinkley posted the fastest time earning him the Bud Pole $100 bonus money. After a mandatory re-draw of the top six qualifiers Siler City’s Stephen Grimes would start on the pole. He would only lead two laps as Concord’s Randy Burnett took over the lead. He would continue leading the pack until lap 47 when Rockingham’s Randy Benson managed to make the pass for the lead and his second consecutive win. Burnett came in second, Brinkley, Pete Stewart of Archdale and Grimes rounded out the top five finishers. In the 50 Lap Late Model Super Truck event Cole Miktuk captured the pole award and his first win of the season. Buddy Allred of Randleman, Jimmy Wallace of Lexington, Gene Kepley of Lexington and Joe Heigl of Raleigh rounded out the top five finishers. In the 30 Lap Sportsman event Rich Hunter of Advance captured his first win of the season. Ricky Frazier of Randleman, Daniel Schadt of Asheboro, Jordan Phillips of Concord and Richard Medlin of Pinehurst rounded out the top five finishers. In the 25 Lap Thunder Roadsters Kyle Beattie of Locust took home the win. Adam Welch of Concord, Brandon Thomson of Saint Cloud, FL, Michael Van Wingerden of Concord and Jim Fluharty of Concord rounded out the top five finishers. In the 25 Lap Legends event Thomas Van Wingerden of Huntersville took home the win. Daniel Hemric of Concord, Chris Buescher of Florida, Michael Van Wingerden of Concord and Steve Ross of Mt Pleasant rounded out the top five finishers. In the 25 Lap Mini Cup event Eric Aurentz took home the win.
In the 15 Lap Mini
Stock event Michael Tucker of Thomasville captured his second win of the
season. Paul Wark of Winston Salem, Pnut Vernon of Walkertown, Ronnie
Kinney of Lexington and John Davis of Lexington rounded out the top five
finishers. In the 10 Lap U-Car divisions Herbert Delosh of Lexington and James Jones of Thomasville each captured there first wins of the season. Our next race will be Sunday May 4th at 2pm featuring a 100 lap NASCAR Late Model Stock event. Also on hand will be ther Limited Late Models, Mini Stock, Super Mini Trucks and U-Cars Grandstands will open at 12 (Noon) and the racing action will begin at 2pm.
