“2008 LATE MODEL RULES AT HICKORY SPEEDWAY”

Newton, NC……… Hickory Motor Speedway Track Management announced some additional guidelines for the Late Model Stocks Division for 2008.

This season, Hickory Motor Speedway joins the majority of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series tracks by mandating the use of the 500 carburetor on “built” engines for Late Model Stocks cars, as per the 2008 NWAAS Rule Book.  Crate engines will still use the 650 carburetor, as in previous years.

However, Hickory Motor Speedway will continue to use the same Shocks Rules as in the 2007 NWAAS Official Rule Book.  We do strongly urge our competitors to take advantage of this program by using up their existing stock of shocks, as HMS will probably follow suit with the NWAAS guidelines for shocks in 2009.

2008 marks the 58th consecutive season of racing at Hickory Motor Speedway.
