Bruton Smith to Unveil Drag Strip Plans;
NHRA Officials to Announce Opening Event
What: Building on Lowe's Motor Speedway's status as the premier
destination for motorsports entertainment, Bruton Smith will unveil plans
for the "crown jewel" of drag racing facilities during a luncheon and press
NHRA officials will also be on hand to announce details for the track's
opening event and several of drag racing's top stars, including some who
live in the Charlotte region, will discuss what the new track and event mean
to the sport and the Carolinas.

The event starts with lunch at 11:00 a.m. followed by the formal portion of
the program which includes two major announcements and interview

Media members should enter the speedway through the Turn 3 tunnel and
proceed to the NASCAR Nationwide Series Garage, located on the Turn 1 side
of the Time Warner Media Center. Parking will be beside the garage.
