STANLEY, N.C. (Monday, March 10)–Anticipation and excitement is building as East Lincoln Speedway prepares for Saturday, April 5th, 7 p.m. which will signal the beginning of the 19th consecutive season of weekly auto racing at the 3/8-mile clay oval.
"It is going to be a exiting season as we will be presenting a variety of different types of added attractions each and every Saturday night to compliment our seven divisions of competition," said track manager James Honeycutt.
Makeup for the weekly Saturday night program will include over 200-laps of competition featuring Late Model Modified-Sportsman, Open Wheel Modified, Stock Four, Rookie Four, Stars of Tomorrow, Grand American Stock Car and Micro-Sprint divisions.
Over two dozen weekly events are scheduled kicking off with the annual Race Car Show at the Triangle Plaza, Hwy. 16, five miles south of Denver on March 22nd beginning at 10 a.m.
The following Saturday, March 29th activities move to the track parking lot where a Racer’s Swap Meet is set to begin at 10 a.m. Starting at 1 p.m. that afternoon the track will be open for practice with the public being admitted free to the grandstand.
"The practice session is a long time tradition at East Lincoln Speedway and it offers the opportunity for racers to test and tune their equipment before the season gets the green flag officially," said Honeycutt.
"People coming out for the practice day will get to see a lot of action for free including the new cars that have been constructed during the off season in their first outing on the track."
East Lincoln Speedway is located at 1873 Mariposa Road, five miles east of Stanley.
