Carolina Clash Reschedules March 22nd Event at Lancaster Speedway
LINCOLNTON, NC – With Easter holiday weekend and scheduling conflicts in mind, the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series has decided to postpone the season opener scheduled for this weekend March 22nd at Lancaster Speedway until June 7th. This will make the season opening event March 29th at Gordon Park Speedway in Augusta, GA.
The Carolina Clash Series has lost the first two scheduled events due to weather related issues. The opener was originally supposed to be March 8th at Carolina Speedway. That race has been rescheduled for Friday night June 6th. The Lancaster race originally scheduled for March 15th will be made up Saturday night June 7th, giving race teams and fans an opportunity to have back to back races within 40 miles of each other. Each race will pay $5,000 to win with a possible bonus if one driver can win both.
“We told our race teams all winter long that we would try our best not to race on holidays,” said Series President Larry Lee. “We want to do what is best for our race teams, promoters and valued fans. With gas prices being at an all time record high we want to try and work with everyone involved to reduce road time as much as we can. We apologize to anyone that we may have inconvenienced but after taking a longer look at things we just felt that moving these races to June was just a better option for everyone involved. We work very hard to get our schedule out as early as we can but sometimes Mother Nature throws you a curveball. We feel that the back to back races will be a real treat for our drivers and our fans.
In closing Lee said, “We want to thank Doug & Sharon McManus of Lancaster Speedway for working with us on this matter. Their track is a big part of the Carolina Clash Series and we can’t wait to get back down there in June.”
