Mileback Speedway got the Friday night racing action started off with the Hobby main event. Michael Lyons and Mart Patterson brought the field down to the green flag. Lyons and Patterson battled side by side for the lead but it was Patterson who took command over the field going into turn three. Tim Tollison who started in the rear of the field made his way to fourth right behind Jeff Crowder to put pressure on for third. Michael Lyons experienced mechanical trouble, which took him from the main event. Michael Lyons’s trouble moved Jeff Crowder to second and Tim Tollison to third. After that it was all Mart Patterson who cruised to his first victory of the 2008 season at Mileback Speedway. The finish was Mart Patterson, Jeff Crowder second, Tim Tollison third, Larry Boggs fourth, Gene Tucker fifth, and Michael Lyons sixth.


The Renegade Main event started with Timmy Smith and William Young leading the field down to the start. Timmy Smith got the jump and the early lead while Ed Hodges settled in to second. James Hudson and Danny Tessner Jr. battled hard before Hudson’s and Tessner tangled which ended with Tessner Jr flipping on the backstretch destroying Tessner’s car. When the green flag waved again it was Timmy Smith pulling away from the field. Hudson drove his way back to the competition by passing Dylan Chappell for third and then gained on Dwight Smith for second. When the halfway sign was given the top three were less than a car length apart. A late race caution put the field into a green white-checkered situation. When the green waved Timmy Smith drove away but the battle was for fourth between Matthew Huff and Allen Eubanks. The checkered fell with Timmy Smith taking his first checkered flag of 2008 at Mileback. The finish was Timmy Smith, Dwight Smith second, Dylan Chappell third, Allen Eubanks fourth, Matthew Huff fifth, and James Hudson sixth.


The Front Wheel Drive main started with John Smothers and BJ McDowell leading the field to the green. Smothers got the jump on McDowell. McDowell had to deal with pressure from Randall Klepper for the second position. Michael Smothers was able to get by Randall Klepper for third. John Smothers drove away to his second Front Wheel Drive victory of 2008. The finish was John Smothers, BJ McDowell second, Michael Smothers third, and Randall Klepper fourth.


The Young Gun main started with Mary Beth Hicks and Daniel Alvarez leading field to the green flag. Mary Beth drove off to the early lead while Alvarez settled into second. Chris Patterson put some hard pressure on Samantha Hodges for third but Hodges held her ground after numerous pass attempts by Patterson. Daniel Alvarez gained on leader Mary Beth Hicks and made the pass for the lead in turn one. Alvarez soon experienced some bad luck causing three cautions he was black-flagged, which put Brandon Lambert to the lead. Mary Beth Hicks who dominated the start of the race had a crash, which took her from competition. Brandon Summers and Chris Patterson battled for third side by side for numerous laps but Summers could not pull off the pass for position. Chris Patterson was able to gain on second place Samantha Hodges and made the pass for second. When the checkered flag fell it was Brian Lambert taking his first ever-checkered flag in the Young Guns division. The finish was Brian Lambert, Chris Patterson second, Angel Green third, Brandon Summers fourth, and Daniel Alvarez fifth.


The Limited Late Model main event got under way with Dean Barnett and Travis Blackwell leading the pack to the green. Barnett got the jump on Blackwell going into turn one. Ernest Steifle got by Blackwell for second but Travis Blackwell battled back to the rear bumper of Steifle for second place. Darren Hill gained on Travis Blackwell for third. Ernest Steifle was able to catch up to Dean Barnett who was the leader and the two battled side by side for the lead. Dale Timms gained on Darren Hill for fourth but could not complete the pass. With the leaders battling hard it allowed third place Travis Blackwell to make up some ground and put pressure on Ernest Steifle for second. When the white flag waved Ernest Steifle drove his number three machine into turn one as hard as he could to try and take the lead from Barnett, while he was able to get underneath Barnett he could not pull off the pass and Barnett crossed the finish line as the winner for the first time this season. The finish was Dean Barnett, Ernest Steifle second, Travis Blackwell third, Darren Hill fourth, Dale Timms fifth, and John Mcabee sixth.


The Super Late Model main event started with Larry Timms and David Smith leading the field to the green flag. The initial start was waved off after Smith jumped the gun and was sent to the rear. That moved Tony Quarles to the outside pole and the field was reset to start the main again. When the green waved Larry Timms got the early lead while Tony Quarles settled into second spot. Brandon Ifft was able to get by Colby Cannon for fourth early on. After making the pass on Cannon, Ifft was able to gain on Terry Bullard for the third spot. The two would end up side by side for the third spot with Ifft coming out with the third spot. Tony Quarles gained on leader Larry Timms but Timms drove away. Quarles soon had to deal with the pressure from Brandon Ifft for the second position. After halfway through the race it was Larry Timms who was dealing with pressure from Tony Quarles who was also battling with Brandon Ifft for second. With five laps to go it was Tony Quarles and Larry Timms battling for the lead. To the surprise of many fans Jim Blackwell who was involved in a early wreck caught the pack but ran out of laps to gain any positions. Quarles was able to get up to the bumper of Timms but was not able to make the pass and Timms drove to his second victory in a row in the Superior Roofing, Timms Racing, Barry Wright Chevy Money Carlo SS. The finish was Larry Timms, Tony Quarles second, Brandon Ifft third, Colby Cannon fourth, Jim Blackwell fifth, Terry Bullard sixth, and David Smith seventh. Timms, “Great to have two victories this early.”
