Porter Captures Upstate 100
Anderson - Due to the threat of weather Anderson Motor Speedway officials made the decision to run the Upstate 100 – Georgia Asphalt Series as the first main event of the night following all local division heat races. This turned out to be the right call as just minutes after the checkered flag fell the rain set in. The winner of the Upstate 100 sponsored by Thomas Concrete and RS Trucking was Easley’s very own, Randy Porter. After an inversion the 41 car of series Rookie, TJ Reaid sat on the pole and led the early laps until Frederick Moore of Gainesville, GA took over. Moore then had to battle with Porter and then Joey Senter, who set the fastest qualifying speed, but both managed to get by. Senter gave Porter all that he had, but it wasn’t enough and Senter eventually finished second. Frederick Moore of Gainesville, GA finished third. Rounding out the top five were Ryan Sieg of Decatur, GA and Taylor Satterfield of Commerce, GA. Next week’s race card at AMS will feature double features in all six divisions plus the return of the Super Renegades.
