Bray Takes Fastrak Race At Antioch

Morganton, [04-12-2008] Royce Bray, No. 21, from Hull, Ga. led
every lap on his way to pick up the $2000.00 first prize in the special
Chevrolet Fastrak race Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. Timbo Mangum,
No. T1, was fast qualifier but dropped out midrace while running third
with engine overheating problems. Ron Parker, No. 8, finished second.
John Llewellyn, No. 90, finished third. Brandon Umberger, No. 54B,
finished fourth. Matt Long, No. 25, finished fifth.
Shane Harris from Marion driving the Roland Auto Recycling, No.
38, led flag to flag picking up his second victory in as many weeks in
the Super Stock V-8 event. Joey Barker, No. 16, finished second. Mike
Brown, No. 11, outbattled Grant Hutchins, No. 53, to finish third.
Hutchins finished fourth. Randy Young, No. 21, battled the entire event
for fourth but had to settle for fifth.
Josh Scrounce, No. 13, from Morganton won a hard fought battle
to take home the victory in the Renegade V-8 event. Travis Smith, No.
77, fought furiously with Scrounce and Tim Robinson, No. 10, the entire
event to cross the line in second. Robinson and Smith tangled coming for
the white flag causing Robinson to spin stopping on the front stretch.
Jeff Parsons, No. 81, was able to get by and finish third. Robinson
finished fourth. Harvey Kincaid, No. 5, finished fifth.
Trevor Chatham, No. 00, from Taylorsville led every lap on his
way to victory in the Super Stock Four event. Trent Chatham, No. 9, ran
second until his engine's cam shaft broke on lap eight. Last week's
winner Steve Annas, No. 7A, pressured Chatham late in the event but had
to settle for second. Richard Vasser, No. 74, finished third. Keith
Hart, No. 81 finished fourth. Ed Brittain, No. 57, overcame a midrace
caution to finish fifth.
Josh Holden, No. 71, from Morganton led from green to checkered
to win a hotly contested Pure Stock Four race. Richard Vasser, No. 8,
came from the rear of the field outbattling David Hall, No. 9, and
pressuring Holden to second. Hall finished third. Jeff Parsons, No. NC4,
finished fourth. Bill Mintz, No. 1, finished fifth.
Brandon Marshall, No. 21, from Lenoir looked impressive winning
the Young Guns event. Last week's winner AJ Parsons, No. NC4, led the
first two laps until he and Jacob Carver, J15, tangled coming off turn
four causing both racers to spin out. Marshall inherited the lead and
held off a hard charging Parsons to take the checkered flag. Parsons
finished second. Carver finished third, Jeremy Propst, No. 14, finished
fourth and Joseph Hodges, No. 4, finished fifth.
