ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (April 8, 2008) – Joey Logano and John Wes Townley returned to the Rockingham Speedway to continue testing and to get extra seat time at the unique, one-mile track. Both drivers are rookies in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and will race at the track for the first time on May 4th during the Carolina 500.

Even though Joey Logano was one of the fastest cars during the open test here just a few weeks ago he was back to gain more experience in an ARCA stock car. The 16 year old Logano will make his ARCA debut at Rockingham Speedway during the Carolina 500 on May 4th.

John Wes Townley was also present during the open test on March 21st and brought his Zaxby’s Ford back for more laps. Townley was very happy with the results and looks forward to racing with 49 other competitors less than a month from now.

Following are selected quotes from both drivers attending the test session:

Joey Logano – Venturini Motorsports Chevrolet

“Today went pretty good. We got the car close to where we want it and we found some speed in the car so I think that is real good coming here again and I found some things from the driver’s stand point so I am a lot more confident, that is for sure.”

“I am looking forward to racing here because today I actually moved to the top of the track and it really felt good up there and to be able to run up there, it is going to be a sweet race. There is going to be so much stuff going on with this race and the strategies that it is going to be really cool to be racing in it. I feel like we definitely have a fast car that will be capable of winning this thing.”

“It will be an exciting race, I promise you that with starting 50 cars out there, it was crazy to hear that, it is definitely going to be action packed, putting 50 cars on the track something is going to happen.”

John Wes Townley – No. 09 Zaxby’s Ford

“I feel pretty confident about the race, if we can get the car a little looser getting into the corner we will be alright. All day we struggled a little bit getting that out  – the tightness, it is certainly coming out and I know for sure we will be good for the race.”

“It is a real honor to race here with all of the drivers that have come here and raced. If the car is set-up right it is a fun place to drive and that depends on the tire wear which depends on the way the car is set-up.”

“I would highly recommend coming out to see this race because you don’t really see racetracks like this anymore, you don’t really see the drivers that get up there and handle the car on the track. It is a great racetrack because the surface is old it really separates the boys from the men and because of that I think it will be a great race to watch.”
