Ricky Rudd Joins the United Way 51st Promotion With Rockingham Speedway for the Carolina 500

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. (April 23, 2008) – Ricky Rudd was announced today as the United Way of Richmond County/Fast Track High Performance Driving School “chauffeur” for the lucky winner of the charity auction. Rudd will be driving a special two-seat race car that will allow the auction winner to put on a driving suit, helmet, Hans Device and roll off with the other 50-cars starting the Carolina 500.
Rudd and co-driver will follow the field during the pace laps before pulling onto pit road at “one-to-go.” Additionally the winning bidder will attend the drivers meeting, be announced during driver introductions and receive two passes to watch the remaining laps from a track suite.
“Andy’s got a lot of good things going on at Rockingham Speedway,” said Rudd. “This is a great cause above and beyond all the things the track has going on and I am happy to be able to do my part.”
One-hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the United Way of Richmond County and the 18 local agencies they support. The agencies are: Sandhills Children Center, Roberdel Children’s Center, Richmond County 4-H Clubs, Boy Scouts, Girl
Scouts, Rockingham Recreation, Leak Street Alumni, American Red Cross, New Horizons, Richmond County Crisis Ministries, Rockingham Soup Kitchen, Hamlet Soup Kitchen, Richmond County Mental Health, Richmond County Aging Services, Samaritan Colony, Richmond County Literacy Council, Richmond County Christian Counseling, Ellerbe and Rockingham Rescue Squads.
The deadline for the winning bid has been extended to April 30th to accommodate the new fans wishing to bid for the enhanced race day experience. To bid on this
