Asa Hovis drives the #7A Open Wheel Modified Class car.  His home track is I-55 Raceway but he can also be found racing at Tri-City Speedway.  He lives in St.Peters, MO.

Team members helping Asa are:  Larry Miller, Stacey, Al Hovis, Hovis Racing Engines.  Larry Miller is the car owner.

Asa started racing in 1996 in the Street Stock Class at Godfrey Speedway because it is a family business.  His first win was that same year. 

The thrill of racing for Asa is the competition, seeing Hovis Racing Engines perform well.  His most exciting racing moment was surviving a wreck.  He's most proud that he is a 3rd generation driver.

Asa's racing hero is his Great Uncle, Harry Hovis, who was a 3 time NHRA National Champion.

Of racing, Asa says, "There is not other sport in the world that is more exciting or that can challenge a person more!".
