Midwest Racing Roundup By Tom Botos 6-5-11
Race fans this has not been a good weekend for racing!
As far I can see it is mother nature 5 and the race fans 0 in
this game of trying to dodge mother nature and esscape being
rained out. Gas City IIN) Speedway did get there Friday racing
in as well as Bloomington Speedway. Anderson,Mt. Lawn and Shady
Hill Speedways were all rained out Saturday Night. the JEGS All
Star Tour Late Models have rescheduled for Saturday July 9th at
Anderson Speedway.
Union Couny (IN) Speedway a 3/8 mile high banked dirt
oval as far as I know has not raced this season. The Health
Department stated Union County will not reopen until the
restrooms are improved. If you want information on this track

Anderson Speedway will host the IOFS International
Outlaw Figure 8 Series this Saturday Night June 11th alomg with
Street Stocks,Thundercars and IOFS FWD Figure 8's. This is the
second visit for the IOFS at Anderson this season. Check out
Gary Bedell and Charlie Hargraves as they battle Chris Green as
well this weekend in IOFS competition. The fas Outlaw Figure 8
cars always put on a good show on the ultra fast crossover of
Anderson Speedway!
Mt. Lawn Speedway has the yet agin rescheduled May 5-0
50's which is fifty lap features for Late Models,THundercars and
Hornets Saturday June 11th. THe UMRA TQ Midgets will join the
regular three classes This Saturday as well.
Baer Field (IN) Speedway will have Autograph Night
Saturday June 11th plus Late Models,Modifieds,Street Stocks,Mini
Stocks and FWD's. Baer Field Speedway has a very old school
feel to it when you walk in the main gates. They have great food
at reasonable prices and they do not drop any classes when they
bring in the HOSS Sprints or Must See Sprints. If you get a

Sunday June 12th Lucas Oil Raceway Park will feature the
CRA Super Series,CRA Sportsman,CRA Street Stocks and CRA FWD
Compacts as they all wage war on this huge oval track. Coolers
are allowed into this speedway and I urge you to check out this
show if yo get the chance.
Gas City I 69 Speedway will host the USAC National
Midgets on Wednesday June 8th along with Non Wing Sprints and
Thundercars. This should be an awesome show for open wheel fans
of dirt! There is no racing Friday June 10th at Gas City.
Bloomington Speedway hosts USAC National Midgets and
Non Wing Sprints as Indiana Midget Week continues Friday June
10th. I have not made it to Bloomington yet this season.
Bloomington has great food along will hillside lawn chair and
bleacher seating for the fans. Pack you a cooler and heat on out
