  Keith Rocco’s Bid to Win 5 Feature Events Ends on Saturday

Keith Rocco started off the Budweiser Blastoff with a win in the NEMA Lites Midget 25 lap feature run on Saturday @ the Waterford Speedbowl.

 Rocco’s quest to win 5 feature events ended in the next event the 25 lap Legend Car feature where Rocco finished 5th.

It was a chilly day at the Speedbowl as 7 feature events were run on the 3/8 mile oval.

Randy Churchill of Oakdale, CT took home the SK Light Modified win.

In the New England Truck Series Chris Turbush of Riverhead, NY took home the win. Turbush is a regular competitor at The Riverhead Raceway in Long Island New York.

Leading the way in qualifying for Sunday’s Budweiser Blastoff races were Chris Pasteryak of Lisbon, Jeff Rocco of Wallingford and Louie Mechalides of Tyngsboro, MA who each picked up qualifying race wins in preparation of the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series feature. 2009 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series SK Modified® track champion Ron Yuhas Jr. of Groton won pole position honors in the division’s 63-lap feature Sunday. In addition to those two events, the NEMA Midgets will compete in a 25-lapper on Sunday as well as NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action for the Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models (50-laps), Street Stocks (30-laps) and Mini Stocks (30-laps).
