WEEDSPORT, NY- It didn’t take veteran Dale Planck very long to get used to his new seat. In a borrowed fire suit and only the second night in the Jeff Isabell powered Dirt modified, Planck put together a dominant victory in Sunday’s afternoon tilt held on the high-banked 3/8 mile Cayuga County Fairgrounds Speedway. Track conditions were an issue for all of the competitors in the big block modified 35 lap feature event. Planck overcame all of that, and an ultra competitive field of drivers to put together a performance that would yield his first ever victory at the ‘Port.

“It felt awesome, the car can go anywhere, high or low, Jeff Isabell is the man, as far as the set up goes, I just show up here and drive, he’s got a real good program here.” Planck commented moments after taking his first Cayuga County Fair Speedway victory. Planck giving his new owner car credit wasn’t simply for benefit of the boss’s ears, Isabell is an accomplished driver in his own right and fields a number of cars on a weekly basis, one of which being driven by long time Dirt modified competitor “The Doctor” Danny Johnson.

Planck led all but the first 6 laps of Sunday’s 35 lap feature event. Following Plack in the Commercial Roofing, A& D Structures #7J, to the line were Tim Fuller, Billy Dunn, Alan Johnson, Vince Vitale, Matt Sheppard, Tom Sears Jr., Danny Johnson, & Saturday’s Fulton Speedway feature winner, Jimmy Phelps.

Other notes from this weekends action: Brewerton Speedway, 35-lap feature winner, Billy Decker in the Gypsum Express car #91. Saturday Night, out at the Fulton Speedway it was Jimmy Phelps in the J&B Installation , Granby Discount Carpet’s 99J taking the Promotion Speed Supply 35-Lap feature event.
