Hello again Racefans on Saturday Night January 10th was the CRA Racing Series Banquet for four divisions of racecars all sanctioned by the Champion Racing Association. The banquet was held at Hoosier Park Racing Casino in Anderson,Indiana. It  was held in the Homstretch Clubhouse area and was a packed house of drivers, crewmen, and family and friends  of racers as well as sponsors of raceteams and track owners and promoters. A great time was had by all with a full spread of prime rib, shrimp, chicken, and turkey roast capped off by a full dessert bar. Almost 15,000 dollars of giveaway certificates were drawn to give drivers complimentary much needed racing apparel and parts for there racecars.

The top ten in each division were awarded points money and plaques and or trophies to signify each teams accomplishments in 2008.Scott Hantz announced they are going for another title this year in the CRA Super Series Late Models. Highlights of the 2008 seaosn were shown on TV screens at each table and on a huge TV in the fancy clubhouse area while each division champion had there own 2008 highlight clips shown in full color reliving many crashes and accidents thye had all over again. A great time was had by all.
Yours Truly sat with Pam McConnell and Scott Neal and we discussed auto racing all evening long. Pam McConnell is moving from the Mt. Lawn Speedway Thundercar Division where she finished second in points in 2008 to the CRA Street Stock Division. She may be the second woman to race in CRA other than Katie Jackson in CRA Street Stocks? Pam's Crew Chief will be Scott Neal and they announced the car is a chevelle body although I am nor sure what year the car was made. Pam's car is in "pieces" now as she and Scott Neal hope to have her car ready to start the CRA Street Stock Racing Season in 2009. Scott Neal is a former champion in Late Models at Mt. Lawn Speedway and has raced at all the tracks Pam will be competing on so she should have the inside scoop  on what groove to be in as each feature begins. I wish her and Scott th best of luck in 2009 and Pam is currently looking for sponsors so she can run the entire schedule. If you would like to sponsor Pam McConnell please call her at 317 383-7355
