Hello Racefans I just a received a flyer in the mail for
the 12th Annual Columbus Speedway and 25th Street Raceway Old
Timers Reunion to be held Saturday March 20th from 11am to 5pm.
It is a heated building with bench
racing,memorabilia,food,vintage and modern racecar display.
Please bring your scrapbooks, photos, and posters. Vendor tables
are $10.00 where you can buy or sell all your racing
memorabilia. For any information call Jerry Castor at 812
592-5010 or you can email him at
castorindy@cinergymetro.net . I went to this reunion last
year and had an awesome time meeting new friends and racefans.
You could actually do what I did last year and go to the reunion
during the day then head over to Brownstown (IN) Speedway in
Brownstown,Indiana for there season opener races featuring Super
Late Models,UMP Super Stocks,UMP Modifieds ,and Hornets. By the
way the Old Timers Reunion is being held at the Bartholomew 4-H
Fairgrounds in Columbus,Indiana located on Highway 11, two miles
south of highway 46.
It is so nice to be able to talk about racing for a
change and about big races coming up instead of all this bad
weather and snow. I recently joined the Big Brothers and Big
Sisters of Indiana program. I plan to take my eleven year old
little brother to a few races this year. I do know he likes four
wheeler racing so I hope that interest might carry over into
stocl car racing. Bottom line is the idea of taking a kid to the
races that has never been is very exciting for me. I talked with
Camille Brugh during my volunteer interview. I told her of my
idea of having a Big Brother and Big Sisters of Indiana Night at
the races. I will talk with a few promoters and see if I can get
the "night" set up for this 2010 racing season. Any way I can
help make a diference in a young persons life is very rewarding
for me.
I plan to go to Kokomo,Gas
City,Salem,Winchester,Anderson and Mt. Lawn Speedways this year
and will exhaust all my vacation days from work in doing so!
What are your plans this racing season? What tracks do
you plan on or wish you could visit? I really enjoy hearing from
you the fans of this great sport. Drivers ,teams, crews and car
owners good luck in this 2010 racing season. For any info, news
or comments please email me at
