Midwest Racing Roundup By Tom Botos 5-31-10
Hey racefans what an awesome racing weekend it was
everywhere weatherwise wihich made for some great racing at
both Mt. Lawn Speedway and Plymouth Speedway! The racing was
totally off the hook Saturday NIght at Mt. Lawn Speedway with 18
Late Models,16 Thundercars and 25 Hornets all doing battle in
fifty lap features. The points leader in the Hornet Division
#76 Brian Reynolds worked his way from the mid-pack to
eventually lead the Hornet fifty lap feature only to cut a tire
and scrape the outside retaining wall with two laps to go. Brad
Mcmahon ended up winning the hornet fifty lap feature.
#28 Jeff Marcum won the Late Model Fifty lap feature
over Eric Evans after Scott Knepley,Terry Cater,Brandon Mefford
and William Mefford were involved in a turn one short turn melee
which busted Terry Caters Radiator ending his night early.
Cngratulations to Jeff Marcum as he has won two features
now already in this very young racing season! I really miss L.J.
at Mt. Lawn Speedway meaning L.J. Lines a former Raintree 100
winner. Is there anyone out there reading this that can offer
L.J. a Late Model ride? For full late model results go to www.
mtlawn.com
#25 Neil Marcum won the fiftylap feature for the
Thundercar Division. The thundercars were slicing and dicing
passing inside and outside high and low! Cody Walker led for
many laps until he was passed for good by Neil Marcum.
Sunday Night I went to Plymouth Speedwa y and all I can
say is WOW!
The racing in the sportsman division and the Late Model
Division was simply amazing! Brian Ross led for most of the race
until he was passed by #5 Dakota Carson for the win.
Fellow trackchasers Dave Egan and Chris otherwise known
as Michiana Racin on
www.stockcarextreme met me at Plymouth Speedway thsi week
and they really made my weekend as they both talked with Isiaiah
my little briher. I love watching the power and fast speeds that
the late models display when they sail past you!!! Isaiah sure
had a great time seeing outlaw super late models for the first
time! I met Carl Smith the creator of
www.stockcarextreme.com . SCE is a messageboard and racing
website trying to bridge the ga[ps and cover weekly short track
racing in a different way. It is free to join
www.stockcarextreme.com a good place to find some racing
news that you might not know about!
Friday Night I went to The Indianapolis Speedrome and
watched six time World Figure 8 Champion win the 800th Figure 8
Feature since its inception a the 1/5 mile oval. Good crowds
were on hand at all three racing events and I hope ole man
winter is long gone. I really hate wearing jackets and coats
when it is racing season! For any news, notes or comments please
email me at
indybear37@yahoo.com Gotta go see ya at the races!
