Hi racefans it was a great weekend of racing
last week as the CRA Sportsman invaded Anderson (IN)
Speedway along with the CRA Street Stocks. Keith
Sterkowitz won the 50 lap feature for the CRA
Sportsman which was an out all war with 35 cars
showing up to do battle off the Anderson Speedway
high banks! There were many cautions in this race
but in between all that the racing was fas and
furious with stars like Rick Rinehart,Brett Miles
Jr. and Mark Livesay all getting caught up in a
wreck in turn four which took out many front running
drivers from the event. Congratulations to Keith
Sterkowitz as this was only his second win in CRA
Sportsman competition.
Josh Poore won the fifty lap CRA Street
Stock feature as this ws his fifth Street Stock
feature in a row stretching back to last season at
Anderson Speedway! It is very possible that Josh
could win the Anderson points title and the CRA
Street Stock points battle in 2011. Stay tuned as we
watch Josh progress as he has dominated everything
street stock thus far at Anderson Speedway!
This past Saturday Night Anderson Speedway
hosted U.S. Air Force Night Of Thrills featuring
IOFS Outlaw Figure Eights,School Bus Figure Eights,
and the always exciting Trailer Figure Eight race!
Congratulations to Charlie Hargraves winning the
fifty lap feature over 2010 IOFS Figure Champion
Gary Bedell and Chris Green in third place. Both
Gary Bedell and Chris Green suffered flat tires
which I think kept them from overtaking Charlie
Hargraves in the hard fought feature. The IOFS will
return to Anderson Speedway on Saturday Night June
11th.
Friday Night Benny Blevins returned to
Anderson Speedway to win the Thundercar 200 lap
enduro with Alan Williams finishing a very close
second after going three laps down after a crash
earlier in the race. I look for Alan to be a force
to be reckoned with this year in Thundercar enduro
competition!
Coming Saturday Night May 7th the CRA Super
Series Late Models return to Anderson Speedway for
the Seal Wrap 125 off the high banks! All CRA Super
Series events in 2011 will feature double file
restarts which should really make things really
interesting for you race fans at Anderson this year!
The Anderson Speedway Late Models,WMDH
Thundercars,and FWD Oval and Figure 8s will be
support classes for the CRA Seal Wrap 125 that
evening. Please come out and support Anderson
Speedway!
Saturday Night May 7th is Opening Night at
Mt. Lawn (IN) Speedway. The night will feature Mt.
Lawn Late Models, Thundercars ,Rookie Hornets and
regular Hornets in weekly competition. M. Lawn
always has great racing on the tricky egg shaped tri
oval. Please come out and support this track as it
has been open since the 1930's. I have seen some
great racing at thsi track that I will nevr forget
as cars slow down to navigate that treacherous
famous turn one "short turn".
There is no racing Friday May 6th at Gas
City (IN) Speedway. Friday Night May 6th hosts
$2,500 to win Sprints,UMP Modifieds and Super Stocks
at Bloomington (IN) Speedway. Bloomington Speedway
is very fan friendly with hillside lawn chair and
bleacher seating for the fans, Coolers are allowed
at Bloomington Speedway as long as you dont bring in
glass bottles. Fans if you have any news,notes or
