Well Racefans it is Jackson 100 weekend! You smell the grills cooking hot dogs and burgers in the campground, campers sitting everywhere you look and a pit area full of big rig haulers and trailers of Late Models ready to do battle like gladiators in the Roman Coliseum! 58  Late Models qualified with Kentucky Driver Josh McGuire being the 1st car out set fast time with a 15.221 Friday Night at Brownstown Speedway.Don O'neal was fast  with a 15.313 clocking,as well  as Shannon Babb with a 15.385.Tim McCreadie timed in with a 15.308.     South Bend (IN) Motor Speedway closed in 2007 and has been for sale for quite awhile now.Saturday October 18th the track will roar back to life once again with a benefit race hoping to lure an investor in to buy the track and reopen it in 2009. Many racefans, drivers, and crewman have been at the track pulling weeds and painting the facility to get it race ready for October 18th.All this work is strictly voluntary and there doing it just for the love of auto racing and these devoted fans wish the track to remain a racetrack and not be torn down. I am very proud to see loyal racefans helping to keep a track open and I wish them the very best of luck finding a buyer/investor.
