The Red Clay Racing team was back in action
after being out for 3 weeks. The team has been in the shop working
hard on getting the new motor, clutch, and rear end in the car.
Thanks to Danny Whitley who helped them get the rear end welded up.
Nevin Twiddy aka Red Dust started his heat
race on the outside pole. As the green flag fell, #33 Brian
Medlin gave Red Dust a helpful shove to push him out to the lead.
Once out front, Nevin never looked back going on to take his 2nd
heat race victory of the season.
As feature time rolled around, Nevin found
himself sitting on the pole followed by 9 other cars going after
the same thing he was after. The feature race was full of
excitement for Red Dust as he battled several laps with Brian
Theide #01 side by side. Theide finally worked his way around
Nevin to take the lead. Not long after, Brian Theide went out
with motor trouble handing Red Dust the lead. Brian Medlin soon
caught him close to the end of the race and tried his hand at the
lead. On the final lap of the final turn, Medlin got under Red
Dust. The two came together and spun going across the finish
line. Red Dust spun in front of Medlin handing Nevin his first
career win.
