LuvRacin.com visits Windy Hollow Speedway

Last Sunday I made my first visit this racing season to Windy Hollow Speedway in Owensboro.  Randy and Kim Booker, new track promoters, entertained a full house on one of the season’s hottest days.

Competition was hot as well.  The night’s program included a special UMP Modified race that Randy Westerfield dominated from start to finish. Take a look at the track’s upcoming schedule as they have a special celebrity race coming up on July 30^th in conjunction with the annual Owensboro Motorsports Festival.  Racing celebrities from the Owensboro area are numerous, as folks in the area know.  However, I’m not sure others are aware of it. 

Here’s a tip.  Listen to driver introductions at the next Nextel Cup race and count the number of starters introduced as being from Owensboro, KY.  I don’t believe any other city will have as many, not even the North Carolina cities.  And, if you need a tiebreaker, count the Owensboro guy on the television broadcast.  You know who he is!  And other Owensboro natives can be found in all other racing levels.
