6/22/13 OVSCA Race Results
It was a hot sunny day at the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Oh. On hand was the OVSCA 410 sprint car series. 11 Sprint cars entered in for the night's race.
My first night reporting with my new shirt paid off as I was asked numerous times if I was the guy who was taking pictures for the track, so I told everybody where to find the picture's. As I was done walking thru the pits I decided to walk out to look at the track and as I was walking toward the track, track Promoter Steven Partin pulled up beside me, introduced himself and shook my hand. I thanked him for the opportunity to come to his track and do what I do, and he thanked me for coming. Sometimes it just feels good to be appreciated.
Once the sprint cars took to the track for their feature event, thunder was rolling thru the Brush Creek Valley. At the drop of the green flag Jimmy Stinson jumped out to the lead, and never looked back. At the half-way point the running order was Stinson, Nathan Skaggs, Cory Crabtree, Ryan Broughton, and Sam Ashworth rounded out the top five. It stayed that way until lap 16 when Nathan Skaggs, who was running second at the time, went up and hit the wall coming out of turn 4. On the restart Stinson stayed strong and went on to win the race, following him across the line was Ryan Broughton, Cory Crabtree, Wes McGlumphy, Josh Davis, Sam Ashworth, Todd Kane, Aaron Higgins, Mark Imler, and Shewbrooks.
I had a really good time at The Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and look forward to going back real soon. A few of their upcoming events include: Wednesday July 17th is Steven Partin's "Hidden Gem" UMP Summernationals "HELLTOUR" event, then on September 12th, 13th & 14th it will be the American Heritage weekend where they have double feature's. First on Thursday September 12th will be a full show of all classes, then on Friday September 13th will see a full show for the OVSCA 410 sprint cars plus Qualifying and heat races for the late models. Then on Saturday September 14th it will be the B-Mains and then Double features, the first feature lines up for 50 laps for $10,000 to win and the second feature the line-up is inverted and they run another 50 laps for a brand new Harley Davidson motorcycle or $10,000. Last year Georgia's Shane Clanton rode the Bike home after first deciding to take the money and then later changing his mind.
