Eric Smith drives the #57 IMCA Modified
Class car. His home track is Talladega Short Track. He lives
in Lineville, AL.
Eric started racing in 2002 in the IMCA
Stock Class at Talladega Short Track because he'd always had a love for
racing. His father raced for 15 years. They built Eric a car
and started from there. His first win was that same year.
Career highlights include 11 wins in 1st season, 3rd in Track Points, 2nd
in State Points. In 2003 he began running IMCA Modifieds, and finished 2nd in Track Points and 2nd in
State Points.
In 2007
The thrill of racing for Eric is the
speed. His most exciting racing moment was winning his first IMCA
Modified race. He's most proud of he and his father building a
winning car.
Eric's pit crew is Todd Stephens, Jimmy
Watts, Jacob Watts, Tommy Pitts, Lynn Smith, Saywer Stephens,.
Eric Smith is the car owner.
Eric's racing hero is Clardy Phipps.
Of racing, Eric says, "It is a fun way to
