Joel C. Ashton drives the #25 Mini Cup Pro Class car.  He races with the Mini Cup Series.  He lives in Celebration, FL.

Joel started racing in 1981 because his older brother, Wayne, raced Thunder Cars, so Joel grew up around cars and loved everything to do with racing.  His first win was in 1984 in the Thunder Kart Class at Orlando Speedworld.  Career highlights include 1995 finished 3rd in Points in Mini Stock at Okeechobee, Thunder Cross, 9 Feature wins.

The thrill of racing for Joel is making a car run its best and feeling the improvement in speed.  His most exciting racing moment was winning a 50 lapper in Okeechobee at Thunder Cross.  He's most proud that he races hard, but always keep the integrity of the sport as #1.  He wants to be able to look his fellow racers in the eye at the end of the night. 

Joel's racing hero is his brother, Wayne Ashton.

Of racing, Joel says, "The sport is not all about winning.  It's being competitive and enjoying the sport!".
