Mark Nelson drives the #11 Open Wheel Modified Class car.  His home track is Desoto Super Speedway but he can also be found racing with Gulfcoast Series.  He lives in Clearwater, FL.

Team members helping Mark are:  Mom, Dad, Jeff Billera, Donald Hess, Art Danelson. 

Mark started racing in 2000 in the Hornet Class at Sunshine Speedway because his Father raced for many years, his Grandfather was the push truck/safety truck for over 20 years at Sunshine Speedway.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include winning in every class he's driven, Hornets, Street Stock, Outlaw Late Model, Open Wheel Modified.

The thrill of racing for Mark is that it just seems to come naturally to be able to drive a car to its limits every race.  His most exciting racing moment was winning at Gulf Coast Modified race, 3 races into his Open Wheel Modified career.  He's most proud of the fun they have no matter how they finish.

Mark's racing hero is Bill Elliott.
