Donnie began racing in 1980 in the Thunder Car class after being raised around racing (his father had a Late Model at Golden Gate Speedway in the 60's). His first win was in 1980(81?).

Career highlights include: 2nd in Championship in limited Sprint [points (2 times) and won 1st Budweiser race in 1998. The thrill of racing for him is the winning and the competition. He is most proud of running Fords his entire career.

Donnie's racing hero is Bill Elliott.
