Al Mormonde drives the Lucky #7 Modified
Class car. He lives in Houma, LA. His home track is Lakeland
Speedway.
He started racing in 1994 in the Street
Stock Class at Westbank Speedway because when he was a kid his grandma
took him to Daytona 500 in 1965. His first win was in 1994 in
Mississippi. Al won 3 Track Championships in 1995-96-97 in the
Street Stock Class. In 1998 he had a bad accident. In 1999 he
bought a Dirt Late Model and won the Track Championship in 1999 and 2000.
The thrill of racing for Al is pursuing
his goal of having a car to race at Daytona! He's most proud of
winning 5 Track Championships and going to different tracks and winning.
Richard Petty is Al's racing hero.
Of racing, Al says, "Very exciting,
ultimate euphoria!".
