Travis Staats drives the #1AR Mini Stock Class car.  His home track is Volusia Speedway Park.  He lives in Umatilla, FL.

Travis started racing in 1999 in the Pure Stock Class at Volusia Speedway Park because his Father raced and Travis helped his Dad out.  He gained interest, got a good deal on a Pure Stock and decided to hop in the seat.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include 2006 Mini Stock Champion at Volusia Speedway Park, 10 wins at Volusia in '06.

The thrill of racing for Travis is just having fun, keeping the car in one piece and finishing in the top 5.  His most exciting racing moment was racing side by side for a few laps to Victory Lane rather than walking away from the field of cars.  He's most proud of the entire '06 racing season at Volusia Speedway Park and winning the Mini Stock Championship at Volusia Speedway Park.

Travis's racing hero is his Dad, Charlie Staats.

Of racing, Travis says, "Win or lose just have fun.  If you don't finish, you can't win and keep your car in one piece!  If you're gonna be original, you can count on being copied!".
