He began racing in 1993 in Pure at Ocala Speedway because of friends. His first win was in 1993 at Ocala Speedway in Pure Class. Career highlights include finishing in the Top 5 in Points every year he has raced.

The thrills of racing for John are the friends and the speed. His most exciting racing moment was when Rob Barris and he won in Streets and Mods the same night with Thorne Motors. He is most proud of being able to compete hard on the track and remain friends with other drivers.

His racing hero is Harry Gant.
