Derek Sander drives the #7 Mini Stock Class car.  His home track is Chandler Speedway, but he can also be found racing at Soggy Bottoms Speedway and Nebo Speedway.  He lives in Evansville, IN.

Derek started racing in 2004 in the Mini Stock Class at Soggy Bottoms Speedway for the excitement.  His first win was in 2004 in the 4 Cyl at Soggy Bottoms Speedway.  Career highlights include 4 wins at Soggy Bottoms in '04, 3 Feature wins, 8 Heat wins in '06, 2006 Track Championship at Chandler Speedway.

His most exciting racing moment was finishing 2nd in the Heat and 1st in the Feature the first time he raced.  He's most proud of winning the '06 Track Championship in his first full season for Points.

Derek's racing hero is Dale Earnhardt jr.
