Earl Riley drives the #17 Xtreme Figure 8
Class car. His home track is Sportsdrome Speedway. He also can be
found racing at Thunder Valley, North Vernon, Lawrenceburg, Ripley
County, Scottsburg, Indianapolis Speedrome. He lives in Jeffersonville,
IN.
He started racing in 1984 in Street Stock
Figure 8 at Sportsdrome. Earl got into racing after graduation in 1984, He
watched his Dad race for years at the Sportsdrome Speedway. It is just "in
the blood". His first win was in 1987 in Street Stock at the Sportsdrome.
Career highlights include 1989 Runner Up 2nd place Points Champion, 3
Hardee's Features, 2nd Place figure 8 Madness, 1 Budweiser win,2nd Place
in One Hour figure Enduro, 4th in Mid-Western Figure 8 Championship for
Outlaw Division, 3rd Place Point Standing 6 times in a row 1989-1995, 7th
Place Lawrenceburg Funfest 2001, 8th Place Lawrenceburg Funfest 2002, 8th
Place points in Enduro Division 2002, and 14th Place Points at
Sportsdrome Speedway in 2003.
The thrill of racing for Earl is
that it gives him and adrenalin rush, going through the crossing of two
different cars in the X. He is most proud of winning the Budweiser
Figure 8 Dash in 1995. His most exciting racing moment was running Raymond
Johnson for a Point Championship, Raymond still beat him by 5 points both
at Charleston and Sportsdrome in 1989.
