Mike Basham drives the #01 X-Treme Oval
Class car. He lives in Henryville, IN. His home track is the Sportsdrome
but he can also be found racing at Scottsburg, North Vernon,
Lawrenceburg and his favorite track, Memphis Motorsports Complex.
He started racing in 1986 in Bombers
Class in Charleston, Sportsdrome because his Dad and Mom raced
Powder Puff and his 5 Uncles and older cousin Ronnie raced. His
first win was in 1986, his third week into racing, in the Bomber Class at
the Sportsdrome. Career highlights include, Indiana Enduro Champion 1999.
The thrill of racing for Mike is
winning and the accomplishment of working on a car and making it
faster. His most exciting racing moment is winning the "Big One" at
Scottsburg, a 200 Lap Enduro, paying $7000.00 and winning a Salem Dash
Feature. He is most proud of Starting an A.R.C.A. Race at Michigan
Speedway, going as fast as he dared and having Frank Kimmel blow past him
going 20 mph faster than he was. He is also proud that his 10 year old
daughter started racing.
Mike's racing hero is Richard Petty.
