Ryan Amonett drives the #1 Thunder Class car.  His home track is Mt. Lawn Speedway but he can also be found racing at Union County Speedway.  He lives in New Castle, IN.

Team members helping  Ryan are:  Dad, John Claywell, who are also the car owners.

Ryan started racing in 2004 in the Front Wheel Drive at Mt. Lawn Speedway because he's been around it all his life and loves it.  Career highlights include finishing 2nd in the first night racing the Thunder Car and finishing 8th in the Points in 2005 with only half a season under his belt. 

The thrill of racing for Ryan is the speed and fun.  His most exciting racing moment was his first race.  He's most proud of finishing 2nd in his first race.

Ryan's racing hero is Jeff Gordon.

Of racing, Ryan says, "What a thrill!  They can't put it in you and they can't take it out of you!".
