Joe Woodring drives the #51 Late Model
Class car. His home track is Mt. Lawn Speedway but he can also be
found racing at Winchester Speedway and Anderson Speedway. He
lives in Gaston, IN.
Team members helping Joe are: Mike
Woodring, Tom Woodring, Guy Woodring.
Joe started racing in '85 in the Street
Stock Class at Anderson Speedway because his Dad and friend, Dennis
Miles, raced local and loved it and Joe wanted to be like them.
His first win was in '87 in the Sportsman class at OKC Fairgrounds
Speedway. Career highlights include Spring Karts Point Champion in
'99 at Speedcreek Raceway, raced 3/4 Midgets okc at Tulsa Speedway,
first Heat win Sportsman Class okc Speedway.
The thrill of racing for Joe is driving
into corners hard the pull you get down the stretch side by side.
His most exciting racing moment was racing karts with all his brothers
in Albany IN and watching his son race karts for the first time and
winning his Feature. He's most proud of his Points Championship
and Sportsman of the Year in '99.
Joe's racing heroes are Gayl Woodring
and Dennis Miles.
Of racing, Joe says, "There is nothing
better than the speed and side by side competition, especially when you
can do it with family and I have that. Thanks to my brothers and
very good friends that helped me along the way. I will never
forget the first car we got to build together. I've never been
more close to them. It's awesome and I thank them for it every
day. Don't care where I finish as long as we can do this together!
Go for it! You live once and go hard as you can!".
