Derick Young drives the #35 Hornet Class car.  His home track is Indianapolis Speedrome but he can also be found racing at Mount Lawn Speedway.  He lives in Indianapolis, IN.

Derick started racing in 2004 in the Hornet Class at Speedrome because it is safer than street racing.  His first win was that same year.  Career highlights include Carmel Sod Fall Champion. 

The thrill of racing for Derick is the speed.  His most exciting racing moment was winning his first Figure 8 Race in 2005.  He's most proud of trying to win a Championship.

Derick's racing hero is Michael Shoemaker.

Of racing, Derick says, "Racing is an exciting hobby...you meet a lot of new friends!".
