Derek Colson

Derek Colson drives the #70 Factory Stock Class car.  He lives in Greensburg, IN.  His home track is Tree City Raceway Park but he can also be found racing at Ripley County Fairgrounds.

He started racing in 2001 in the Roadrunners Class at Indianapolis Speedrome because he was asked, while attending college at LTI if he wanted to join the race team.  His first win was in 2000 in the Figure 8 Demo at Decatur County Fairgrounds.  This is his first year on dirt.

The thrill of racing for Derek is the power, adrenaline rush, and the dirt in the teeth.  His most exciting racing moment was buying his first car.  He's most proud of not wrecking........yet! 

Dale Earnhardt and Scott Bryton are Derek's racing heroes.

Of racing, Derek says, "Come out and watch once....it aint just circles we're doing out here!".
