Tom started racing in 1994 in the Late
Model Class at IMCA Tracks although he had started racing years before
in Pro Stock and Limited Late Model Classes because of his love of the
sport and he's always loved competition of any kind. His first win
was in 1994 in the Late Model Class at 34 Raceway. Career
highlights include IMCA Rookie of the Year in 1994, Deery Bros win at
Lee County Speedway in 2005, finished 2nd in Points at 2 tracks and 2nd
in Deery Points in 2003.
The thrill of racing for Tom is the need
for speed. His most exciting racing moment was racing at Eldora
Speedway at the World 100 several times and qualifying for a Heat Race.
He's most proud of driving Brent Slocum's race car at the funeral and
memorial. He was a good friend and great competitor.
Tom's racing hero is Brent Slocum.
Of racing, Tom says, "Just have fun and
keep it in perspective. It's not all about the win!".
