Rod Smith drives the #M50 Mod Class car. He lives in Monmouth, Illinois. His home track is 34 Raceway but he can also be found racing at Knoxville Speedway.

He began racing in 1980 in S. S. Class at 34 Raceway for the fun of it. His first win was in 1980  at the same Track in same Class. Career highlights include 198 Features, Championships at 34 Raceway, Knoxville Speedway, Donnellson Lee County Raceway and West Liberty Speedway.

The thrill of racing for Rod is winning. He has had several exciting racing moments. He is most proud of no broken radiators in 20 plus years, most were 4 nights a week.

His racing hero is Dale Earnhardt Sr.
