Butch Hunter
#40
Butch Hunter drives the #40 Flyer Class
car. His home track is Farley Speedway but he can also be found
racing at West Liberty Speedway. He lives in Monticello, IA.
Team members helping Butch are:
Nic McElmeel, Gary Hughes, Luke McElmeel, Dustin.
He started racing in 2004 in the Flyer
Class at Farley Speedway because it's been in his family for close to 50
years.
The thrill of racing for Butch is the
competition and the fans. His most exciting racing moment was his
last race in '04 when he hit the wall with his drivers side door coming
out of turn 4 and collapsed a lung. The same night he won his
first Heat race.
Butch's racing heroes are his Grandpa
Tom Hughes and all his uncles who have raced before him.
Of racing, Butch says, "Racing is fun
but it takes a lot of dedication and be sure to make time for your
family!".
