Randy Coghlan
#67
Randy Coghlan drives the #67 Modified
Class car. His home track is Farley Speedway but he can also be
found racing wherever the wind blows. He lives in Toddville, IA.
Team members helping Randy are:
Bob, Gary, Mel, Charlie, and his wife, Kay.
He started racing in 1978 in the Hobby
Stock Class at Cedar Rapids Speedway for the fun and the thrill.
His first win was in 1978 in the Hobby Stock class at Vinton Speedway.
Career highlights include "no Track Championships - mostly because we
race to have fun - and quite honestly, chasing a Point Championship
usually becomes more of a chore than it is worth, but I have finished in
the top 5 numerous times over the years!".
The thrill of racing for Randy is being
competitive. His most exciting racing moment was winning a local
annual fair race at the Great Jones County Fair in front of his home
town crowd. He's most proud of being competitive after 25 years.
Randy's racing hero is Richard Petty.
Of racing, Randy says, "It's a thrill
that unless you have raced a car, most would have a hard time
understanding!".
